About
Welcome to
Austin Food Adventures!
Our Story
As a child, I've always had an infatuation with food, from watching movie scenes featuring food to growing up watching the Create channel on PBS. I was inspired to explore, make, and search for food from a young age. Growing up in Austin, our food scene was a bit limited, but as the city has grown, so has our food scene.
I wasn't exposed to many cuisines when I was younger due to multiple factors, but after I met my husband in high school, we would go on weekly dates trying different restaurants and cuisines whenever he visited from Dallas, where he was in college.
One day, we had the idea to start a food Instagram documenting all the restaurants we tried together and all the new foods we discovered. That's how Austin Food Adventures began. Now, over ten years later, we have over 280,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok combined.
We've hosted multiple events and charity initiatives in Austin and are often known as the most honest food blog in the city, because we never accept free meals from local restaurants and always pay for our own food.
Awards & Recognition
We share unfiltered, honest opinions, and all reviews are done anonymously, with no advance notice to restaurants.
Around the World
As an adult, I've had the opportunity to visit some of the best food destinations in the world, including Japan, Taiwan, Chicago, New York, and more. On these trips, I eat solely for research, securing the hardest reservations and writing detailed travel guides with honest opinions on food, lifestyle, and attractions.
On my website, you'll find guides for cities worldwide, as well as recommendations for restaurants, lifestyle tips, and more.
Beyond the Blog
Outside of the food blog, I'm a mom to a wonderful baby, JJ, as well as a dog and a cat. I also have a great group of friends who I play pickleball and eat with regularly.
